2011 Season Schedule/Results
|
2011 Season in Review 2011 was my first professional season after graduating from the University of Oregon. I was coming off of my second ACL tear in my left knee and was hoping to show the nation that I could come back from anything and compete. The 2011 schedule was set up as a short schedule to maximize potential at later meets in the year when it really mattered. I opened up the season as late as possible due to injuries in hopes that I could throw healthy. I placed higher at USA Nationals in 2011 than I had ever placed before, taking 3rd place and qualifying to be a part of Team USA. I struggled to chance the A standard to go to the World Championships at a couple following meets but kept working hard to late into the season to medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara Mexico. Because of my shortened, focused schedule in 2011 I came out a Silver Medalist with the top mark in the nation, as well as an Olympic A standard. This will greatly ease the burden that many javelin throwers will suffer in 2012 of chasing the A standard to make the Olympic Team. ![]() |
