Who am I? I am a professional javelin thrower with the #1 throw from 2010 through 2012. I am a University of Oregon graduate and I hold the PAC-10, PAC-12, and University of Oregon School Record (83.16m - 272’10”). I currently train with my coach Christina Scherwin in Eugene Oregon with the Oregon Track Club.
I have been throwing the javelin for eight years now and I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am today. Trained thousands of hours, thrown thousands of times, and sacrificed hundreds of things in my life to be where I am. I have been trained by the best and I have honed my skills to throw at a world class level.
To find a javelin coach with talent, skill, the knowhow, and experience is extremely hard to come by. Many young throwers end up searching YouTube videos of the best and struggle to find how to apply it to their training.
I am extremely passionate about the javelin, and I am more than willing to help anyone that has a request. But if I want others to take me seriously as a javelin thrower I need to take myself seriously first. As much as I would like to give out free javelin advice, I hope that you can recognize that I am in need as well. Javelin throwers struggle financially, therefore to offset the costs of training equipment, trainers, travel, and my own coaching I will be requesting a donation for javelin tips.
If you have video of you throwing that you want me to review, drills and exercises you would like to learn, advice on the best javelin spikes, which javelin to throw, or any javelin tips please make a donation below and submit your request via my contact page or through a facebook message.
Thank You,
Cyrus Hostetler
